Caitlin, a huge fan of George Sampson, recently celebrated her 11th birthday in style.
Caitlins mum, Sally (a regular customer of CAKE), had organised for Caitlin and a friend to go to Alton Towers and attend a dance class held by George Sampson. If this was not exciting enough for Caitlin there was also the opportunity to meet George and get his autograph.
Sally wanted to get a birthday cake for Caitlin and after some discussion with us it was decided to make a cake with a model of George on the top and the girls watching from the side which could be taken down to Alton Towers for George to sign with a food pen!
When the time came, Sally (carrying a large cake box) and Caitlin stood in the long queue of people waiting to meet George. One of Georges assistants spotted Sally, asked why she was carrying a large box, and after Sally explained the assistant took the box for her into a private area at the back. A few minutes later Sally’s party was again approached by the assistant and they were asked to leave the queue and follow him where they were taken into a room where George Sampson greeted them and then spent the next 15 minutes chatting.
George was amazed by the cake! He said he initially thought it would just be a photo of him printed in icing and stuck to the top and he never imagined it would be a model of him dancing!! He gladly signed it and asked Sally to pass a message onto the staff at CAKE that this was the best birthday cake he had ever seen.
The following day Georges mum spoke to Sally and told her that George loved the cake so much that he had kept the model of him dancing from the top and was taking it home as a momento.
