Vintage Diamond Wedding Cake - Rowton Hall Hotel

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

This was an awesome wedding cake we took to Rowton Hall, Chester, for a wedding on the 29th May.

The whole cake was ‘gluten free’ with one of the tiers milk free as well.

The brides mother kindly sent us some feedback -

“Thank you so much for the fabulous silver cake you made for my daughter’s
wedding on 29th May.

It was stunning to look at, and absolutely delicious. And all gluten free -
amazing!

(Feel free to put this testimonial on your website..)

All best wishes

Here’s a cake we recently did for a customer who kindly sent us some feedback on it. This is what she had to say about it!

CAKE - Snow White theme by CAKE Chester

“Well….. I can’t believe myself, I was actually considering having my
daughters 3rd birthday cake made elsewhere this year but after the
amazing ‘Minnie Mouse’ cake you made for her 2nd birthday last year I
had to see if you could top it……. And boy did you top it! The ‘Snow
White Cake’ was absolutely amazing; all of the parents and staff at the
play centre were in awe!!! My daughter was soooo excited to show
everyone and even more so to eat it! She had 3 HUGE slices on Saturday!
Thank you sooo much for such an amazing creation. I’ve been recommending
you to every one! WE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR!!!! xxxxx

Charlotte and Marks wedding

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

We recently made a wedding cake for two great people, Charlotte Horne and Mark Jones. The cake needed to have a musical theme to it as Charlotte is an ex Radio One DJ and Mark is the owner of a record company - Wall of Sound. The couple decided to have a three tier cake with each tier looking like a stack of records. Awesome!

Although both London based, the couple tied the knot in Portmeirion, North Wales.

This is what Charlotte and Mark had to say about it - ”

Hi! I just wanted to say a big thank you for making such a fabulous cake
for us. It was perfect and got a lot of attention! It was incredibly delicious
as well as looking totally unique so thanks again. Lots of love, Charlotte & co. x "

Congratulations guys. Keep on groovin’!

George Sampson signs birthday cake

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

Caitlin, a huge fan of George Sampson, recently celebrated her 11th birthday in style.

Caitlins mum, Sally (a regular customer of CAKE), had organised for Caitlin and a friend to go to Alton Towers and attend a dance class held by George Sampson. If this was not exciting enough for Caitlin there was also the opportunity to meet George and get his autograph.

Sally wanted to get a birthday cake for Caitlin and after some discussion with us it was decided to make a cake with a model of George on the top and the girls watching from the side which could be taken down to Alton Towers for George to sign with a food pen!

When the time came, Sally (carrying a large cake box) and Caitlin stood in the long queue of people waiting to meet George. One of Georges assistants spotted Sally, asked why she was carrying a large box, and after Sally explained the assistant took the box for her into a private area at the back. A few minutes later Sally’s party was again approached by the assistant and they were asked to leave the queue and follow him where they were taken into a room where George Sampson greeted them and then spent the next 15 minutes chatting.

George was amazed by the cake! He said he initially thought it would just be a photo of him printed in icing and stuck to the top and he never imagined it would be a model of him dancing!! He gladly signed it and asked Sally to pass a message onto the staff at CAKE that this was the best birthday cake he had ever seen.

The following day Georges mum spoke to Sally and told her that George loved the cake so much that he had kept the model of him dancing from the top and was taking it home as a momento.

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards come to CAKE

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

A customer, whose wife was just nuts about the Rolling Stones, ordered a cake for her 50th birthday. Of course it had to be Rolling Stone themed so we ended up doing a ‘Spitting Image’ style head of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards on top of a large cake with a further 50 ‘Stones’ themed cupcakes underneath it.  I’m sure it gave her enough ‘CAKE’ satisfaction !

Whimsical Wonderland

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Topsy turvy’s are the latest trend in cakes.

People love these whimsical cakes because of the colourful and outrageous styling, creating the illusion of the tiers sliding off.

This is one of our favourites - let us know what you think!
